Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides on Manchester United’s formation for 19/20 season

The Norwegian adopted a 4-3-3 formation when he took over last December with Paul Pogba charged with getting forward as the third man in a three-man midfield. United’s play improved under Solskjaer and there was a return to the counter-attacking football of old with back-to-front goals at Arsenal, Tottenham and Fulham. However, the 47-year-old wants to make a slight tweak to his formation next term by having two outright central midfielders behind a more fluid frontline, according to Andy Mitten. Pogba is seen as integral in the new system (Picture: Getty) Pogba has been earmarked to play in an attacking midfield position where he’s given more freedom to get into the box. The move could be dependent on United’s success in signing a central midfielder this summer with Solskjaer keen to move Pogba forward if he can get in a new recruit to play alongside Nemanja Matic.
