Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides on Manchester United’s formation for 19/20 season
The Norwegian adopted a 4-3-3 formation when he took over last December with Paul Pogba charged with getting forward as the third man in a three-man midfield. United’s play improved under Solskjaer and there was a return to the counter-attacking football of old with back-to-front goals at Arsenal, Tottenham and Fulham. However, the 47-year-old wants to make a slight tweak to his formation next term by having two outright central midfielders behind a more fluid frontline, according to Andy Mitten. The move could be dependent on United’s success in signing a central midfielder this summer with Solskjaer keen to move Pogba forward if he can get in a new recruit to play alongside Nemanja Matic.
